About Spring Croft Swim School
30 Years in the Making
David Cartwright, our swim school founder, set up the company in 1989 and since then has developed and nurtured the swim school to what it is today. Our base in Stambourne Essex is now a hub for teachers and office staff and carries the same principle it always has; allowing children to have fun while learning key life skills in the water.
Swim Star Swim School
We are proud to be a part of the STA’s Swim Star Swim School programme, the scheme has been designed to support independent swim schools such as ourselves, to showcase their commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety, business procedures, teaching and customer service.
Pushing Standards
Spring Croft being a privately owned facility means our levels of pool maintenance and hygiene are above and beyond what can be expected. Testing and cleaning are carried out regularly to maintain our high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the day.
The attention to detail and professionalism is reflected in the decision making for the use of equipment and aids, that are crucial to the success of our lessons, promoting the best practises for young swimmers.

The portal allows parents/carers and teachers to have an understanding of how the swimmer is moving through our lessons and also stay ‘ in the know’ within our Swim4Life.co.uk community.
Swim4Life.co.uk
Being able to swim is a key life skill that can open up a whole aquatic world of opportunities for children, we believe it is never too late for a child to start this journey.

Our swim school uses the STA’s International Learn to Swim Programme (ILSP) also supports STA’s swimming teaching qualifications. Swimstages Scheme is our own unique programme. It follows the progression of a learner from non-swimmer to becoming independent in the water.

Our Pool
Based in the leafy Essex country side, our private 10m pool offers all swimmers the chance to grow in confidence and skill on a smaller more personal scale.
We maintain a water temperature of 31 degrees, that makes swimming just as desirable in those cold winter months.
Our Team
Our friendly and fun-loving teachers are driven by their students’ success in learning to swim and strive for each child to succeed week on week. Our highly trained team have decades of experience and several NGB qualifications which make them extremely knowledgeable in their practice.
Our Approach
We recognise that all swimmers are different and we feel working in smaller groups allows teachers to adapt their teaching practices to each child if necessary. We also use a wide rage of swim aids that allow swimmers to gain an in depth understanding of the strokes whilst staying safe in the water.
